A microchip is a tiny chip, about the size of a grain of rice, placed under your cat's skin. If your cat ever goes missing, any vet or shelter can scan it and reunite you in minutes.
Microchipping is now a legal requirement for pet cats in England, and every cat adopted from City Cat Shelter is chipped before they leave us. It's included in your adoption donation.
A chip only works if the contact details registered to it are current. If you move house or change your phone number, update your cat's record with the microchip database. It takes five minutes and it's the difference between a lost cat and a found one.
